Bio

My strong motivation to become an artist helped me get into a competitive Art School in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where I received a Technical Degree in Art/Design at the young age of 18. It was during that time that my passion for art started to grow in a very strong way inside the fibers of my body.

After traveling to several destinations in South and North America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Pacific, I settled in the North Shore of Oahu, where I earned my Bachelors degree in Fine Arts. As I worked on my BFA I explored other mediums, such as sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, graphic design and digital media.

I now work full time as a photographer and teach classes at a University for the past 16 years and continue to explore more in-depth possibilities of artistic expression. This experience of teaching at a University and the contact with the students made me realize that part of my work as an artist is to share and pass on all that I have learned to future generations as an art educator.

I’ve always had a great desire to further my education to a terminal degree in art and in 2010, I finished my MFA (Masters in Fine Arts) graduate studies at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, and have truly enjoyed this experience. I feel that my education and experiences have provided me with a very good foundation as an artist and have broadened and refined my knowledge and skills.
